UPDATE: Dig Site Sizes

  Back

In order to resolve unforeseen issues related to dig site restrictions, the Business Rule Alignment Group (BRAG) has resolved to take the following actions:

  • BRAG will direct the software developer to create a new ticket type specifically to be used for Large Area Projects (Pre-planned large projects that continue over a significant area and length of time, as well as large scope dig areas for pipeline or seismic work). The dig size area of these Large Area Project tickets would allow contractors to map much larger areas on a single ticket. (proposed up to 800,000 square meters)

  • The target date for release of this development will be May 5, 2019.
  • Until the release of the new Large Area Project ticket type, the following interim changes will be made to the current dig site size restrictions:

o   URBAN Project Ticket: Inside the boundary of a city, town, village or hamlet, the maximum scope of work for a single project ticket is increased from a total area of 15,000 m2 to 60,000 m2.
This change goes into effect on Friday, March 15.

o   Rural Project Ticket: Outside the boundary of a city, town, village or hamlet, the maximum scope of work for a single project ticket is increased from at total area of 108,000 m2 to a maximum area of 4.2 km2, or 4,200,000 m2.
This change went into effect on Wednesday, March 6.
